Welcome to Delrey Doings, a monthly newsletter for families of our UCP Delrey School students. Delrey Doings reports school calendar updates and reminders, event news, fundraising initiatives, news from our Parent Student Organization (PSO) and other information to help you increase your involvement in school activities. School Calendar

November 6, 2009 (Friday) - Assessment Day, School Closed for students

November 23, 2009 (Monday) - Professional Development Day, Schools Closed for students

November 26-27, 2009 (Thursday -Friday) - Thanksgiving Holiday, School Closed

From Miss Bridget's Class:

Miss Bridget's class has begun to make daily morning announcements. The students take turns announcing the menu for the day, a thought of the day, and birthday announcements. Her students have also begun to bring papers to the front of the office for copying.

Festival of Trees

"Starlight, Starbright" is the theme of the Delrey Tree for the Kennedy Krieger Annual Festival of Trees to be held November 27-29 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. If you are interested in decoraing or assisting with the "stars", please contact the school at 410-314-5000.

Halloween:

The UCP Delrey School will celebrate Halloween with "Trick or Treating". This year the older children will hand out candy to the younger children. Afterwards, there will be a costume parade. Then the children will go outside to the pumpkin patch, set up by UMBC students, and pick out a pumpkin to take home.

Fundraising:

The Fundraising Committee will meet early in September to plan our 2009-2010 events. Anyone interested in participating, please contact Fran Ring for the date and time.

Ongoing Fundraising Programs include: Campbell's Labels and General Mills Box Tops. Please continue to send in your box tops. The Box Tops For Education can be found on various products including Kleenex brand tissues (the coupon is on the bottom of the box). Please check all products that you use to see if they have a Box Top For Education coupon, clip it and bring it to Delrey. The school receives cash for the box tops and all of the money is used to purchase items for classroom use. Thank you for your support.
