Delrey School’s primary focus is to lay the foundation for future academic success by providing students with the skills needed to become as independent as possible and to transition into community schools, as appropriate.
Delrey School is a nonpublic school certified by Maryland State Department of Education with an academic program based on the Common Core State Standards. In compliance with The Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), both academic and functional performance outcomes are included in each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
The goal of the education program at Delrey School is to meet the unique learning needs of each student so that they can reach their full academic potential. Small class sizes allow Delrey’s teachers to spend more time with each student individually to develop skills across the curriculum based on the specific strengths of each child. Through an interdisciplinary approach, teachers and therapists work together at Delrey to explore better ways for students to apply their skills in different settings and to promote educational progress.
